STUVAC has now come upon us, and so has the guilt of procrastination and the weeks of lectures that are yet to be watched. While the stress & panic may get to us and we begin to lose sight of our abilities, it is important we remind ourselves of Allah’s words:
لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا “Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity...” [2:286].
Allah has given us the capacity, so we must use this to instill confidence within ourselves and utilise this revision period to the best of our ability. Don’t forget to make plenty of du’a & drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated during the heat.
Jumu’ah prayer will be at OTC Hall from 1:15PM today inshaAllah.
** There will be more than 1 Jumma during Exam period. This will be posted shortly.
Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Jumu’ah will have illumination from the light from one Jumu’ah to the next.” (an-Nasa’i, al-Baihaqi, and al-Hakim) ... See MoreSee Less

May Allah keep their hearts steady with pure intentions, their feet strong for carrying the works of their predecessors, and their minds racing with ideas to keep SUMSA flourishing. We're looking forward to seeing what the new shura have in store!
We'd also like to thank our leaving members from the 2019 shura; many of whom have served for 3 years. May Allah bless them and reward them for all their efforts.
When certain efforts prove to be futile, when things don’t go the way we planned, when certain doors begin to close one after another, let them — when have we ever stopped and considered the possibility that it may have been for our own good?
What we want isn’t always what’s best for us, and what makes it so difficult is that our nature is such — we are always so sure, we become so fixated on some person, some thing, it is this or it is nothing.
But when have we ever stopped to consider the protection that comes with this delay? Is it not sufficient for us to place our trust in Allah? Our Lord truly saves us from things we didn’t even think we needed saving from, & we would never be able to comprehend His wisdom.
Let Allah alone suffice for you:
وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ ۖ وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تُحِبُّوا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not. [2:216] ... See MoreSee Less
